As most of you all know, we bought a new house. We purchased it on August 13th and started moving that night. We've been here about 3 weeks now and are slowly getting settled in. The kids adjusted really well. Mattie and Teegan have continued sleeping through the night with absolutely no issues. Garrett has had a tougher time sleeping in his new room but is getting better.
We still own our other home and are hopeful it will sell soon. We thought we had it sold the other day but the couple who wanted to buy it were denied residency in the community so that fell through. Making 2 house payments, 2 electric bills, 2 gas bills, 2 water bills, plus lot rent at the other house is very stressful. Especially since Josh is the only one with income. It will be a HUGE relief when it sells.
On top of all the "housing" stress, I'm worried about Garrett. About 3 weeks ago he developed a lump in his neck. The doc thought it was an infected lymph node, so he put Gar on a 10 day antibiotic. He said if it didn't go away in 7-10 days, he wanted to see him back in the office. So when it didn't go away, we went back. He had to get blood drawn and a CT scan was ordered. The blood came back normal and the CT scan came back with an "abnormal lymph node." He now needs to go see an ears, nose and throat specialist (ENT). This ENT is the best ENT surgeon in town. Now, that doesn't mean G has to have surgery, but it does mean that IF he does need it, he's in the best hands possible. He also had an ultrasound on his kidneys and bladder last week to see if those looked ok. We've been dealing with night time wetting since before the twins were born. They wanted to make sure nothing was medically wrong with those. His kidneys came back looking great but his bladder showed "thickened walls". They aren't sure if it was because his bladder wasn't full enough or if something else is going on. So, he also needs to see a urologist. His appointment for that is October 15th. I swear, if it's not one thing, it's another. :/
Hopefully your other house sells very soon, but it's good to hear you are all settling in well.
ReplyDeleteThat sucks about the lump, could it be just a cyst?
If it helps any, a certain little lady I know just stopped nighttime accidents, and she's about to turn 13...so it happens, and it just randomly stops too I guess. I hope that it doesn't continue for as long as a certain lil ladies did though. (and i also hope it's not for a medical problem/reason!)
Well the CT scan said it's an abnormal lymph node. We'll find out more tomorrow hopefully at his appointment.
ReplyDeleteThe doc did say that he WILL outgrow it, all kids do, but he just wants to make sure nothing is medically wrong. When the u/s came back that his bladder had thickened walls, they wanted to look more into that. It could very well be nothing, but we'll see. *sigh* This parenting thing is tough sometimes!
Wow, lots going on. Lots of luck with the house and with the medical issues with Garrett. (((hugs))) too!
